Membership Organization
Our Chapter is a member of the Texas High School Basketball Officials Association (UIL Member). Our local members are basketball referees who are trained and have passed a background check.

Assign officials for affiliated schools and local area tournaments
We assign all girls and boys basketball games for our affiliated ISDs (see list below). In addition- we work with schools who are hosting tournaments to provide officiating services.

Support our Affiliated Communities and UIL's Mission
Our officials live and work in the communities we serve. We are proud of the role we play in UIL's mission: to organize and properly supervise contests that assist in preparing students for citizenship. It aims to provide healthy, character building, educational activities carried out under rules providing for good sportsmanship and fair play for all participants.

The SFA Basketball Officials Association is an organization dedicated to providing outstanding officiating for East Texas Schools. The SFA Chapter is authorized by and will be governed by the Constitution and the Bylaws of the University Interscholastic League and the Bylaws of the SFA Chapter. The Association is a member of the University Interscholastic League (Texas Public Schools)
